Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

These Terms govern your use of Dezh, a zero-knowledge password manager operated by Dezh (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Zero-knowledge architecture

Dezh is designed so that your master password and vault secrets are never transmitted to us in plaintext. All vault items are encrypted on your device with keys derived from your master password before they reach our servers. We store only ciphertext, wrapped keys, and authentication material we cannot use to decrypt your data.

Because we cannot decrypt your vault, we cannot recover your master password or vault contents on your behalf. If you lose your master password and cannot complete account recovery, your encrypted data becomes permanently inaccessible—even to us.

2. Your responsibilities

  • Choose a strong, unique master password and keep it confidential.
  • Maintain access to your recovery questions (or other recovery methods you configure).
  • Ensure devices you use to access Dezh are reasonably secured.
  • Use the service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable law.

3. Accounts and subscriptions

You must provide a valid email address to register. Paid features, if offered, are billed according to the plan selected at checkout. Subscription terms, renewal, and cancellation follow the billing provider's policies in addition to these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You may not attempt to circumvent security controls, probe or overload our infrastructure, interfere with other users, or use Dezh to store or distribute illegal content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose a security risk.

5. Account deletion

You may permanently delete your account at any time — see our account deletion page for the steps and scope. Deletion is irreversible and removes your authentication record, encrypted vault data, sync history, and billing linkage from our systems, subject to the retention limits described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Dezh is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or EUR 50 if you use the free tier). See our Disclaimer for additional detail.

7. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
